DARUNAVIR is an antiretroviral drug. It is used with other medicines to treat HIV. This medicine is not a cure for HIV. It will not stop the spread of HIV to others.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions: diabetes hemophilia hepatitis or other liver disease an unusual reaction to darunavir, sulfonamide medicines, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives pregnant or trying to get pregnant breast-feeding
How should this medicine be used?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Take this medicine with food. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed. For your anti-HIV therapy to work as well as possible, take each dose exactly as prescribed. Do not skip doses or stop your medicine even if you feel better. Skipping doses may make the HIV virus resistant to this medicine. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

cholesterol medicines like lovastatin or simvastatin ergot alkaloids like ergonovine pimozide rifampin seizure medicines like carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital St. John's Wort triazolam
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible: change in the amount of urine passed redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth severe skin rash unusually weak, tired weight gain around waist, back, or thinning of face, arms, legs
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): constipation diarrhea headache loss of appetite nausea, vomiting stuffy nose and sore throat

Visit your doctor or health care professional for regular check ups. You will need to have important blood work done while you are taking this medicine. Be aware that you can still get other illnesses or complications of your disease. Discuss any new symptoms with your doctor.
HIV is spread to others through sexual or blood contact. Talk to your doctor about how to stop the spread of HIV.

Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature between 15 to 30 degrees C (59 to 86 degrees F). Protect from light and moisture. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
